Glympse -Share your location App Reviews

I’ve wanted to love Glympse for a very long time, but have never been able to. The basic idea is fantastic, but their implementation leaves a lot to be desired. First, the location accuracy is poor, and the app doesn’t try to do anything to smooth it out (like locking to roads, the way Google Maps does), so it looks like the broadcaster is jumping into buildings and lakes and rooftops as they go. Second, if the broadcaster has double-backed, you just see a jumble of trail and can’t easily tell where they are. (This could easily be fixed if they just faded out the broadcaster’s trail, but they don’t.) Finally, Glympse’s support is pretty lackluster - their “feature request” board is locked, with many popular ideas that have gone unanswered for 3+ years. The app gives you the impression it was once the product of a vibrant startup, but is now collecting cobwebs.

While I have been a fan of the Glympse app for several years, this latest update seems to have problems. Every Glympse I have received refuses to open.

I am a fan of this app but it requires me to either Never or Always share my location information - come on Glympse, you only need my location information when the app is in use. Please add ‘While Using” as an option for using my location.

I absolutely love this app!! It is great when you are on long road trips and you can let your family know where you are. I am in college and I live pretty far from home, it puts my parents mind at ease being able to use Glympse!!

Please add the option to enable location service only when using Glympse like most other apps do. Theres no reason you should need to track my location at all times, especially when Im not actively using Glympse on my device.

What a shame. Glympse was great for a while. Now without browser cookies and nasty Java code you get nothing when receiving a Glympse. Just an empty blue screen. Waze does same thing now I think. Update (October 2014, and again for December 2015) Downgrading to 2 stars. The app no longer functions properly when receiving a Glympse via text or email if cookies arent enabled on your iPhone. Shame on you Glympse. Crazy, Glympse wont even let a request be submitted on their website without cookies on in your browser. Deleting app with prejudice.

His app will not install!!!!!

The app stalls out and wont update for 30 minutes at a clatter. This isnt in a rural area, but in a large city. Makes it kind of pointless.

This app for Samsung Galaxy s6 is amazing! Then I got iPhone s6 and this app is horrible and not up to the Playstore standards! Please fix it asap its so frustrating. Thank you.

You cant delete the app! Dont ever load it.

This app is a lifesaver. I use this app almost every day to let my family know when Im gonna be home from work. Or if I am trying to meet up with friends in the city. It works flawlessly.

I use it all the time with my family and friends. Simple and just works. New version looks great.

I really dont understand why this App isnt getting a ton of attention and loads of great ratings. I literally use this every single time I am suppose to meet someone. On a Dudes night out, they can see where Im at without giving me crap about my "ETA." We had an ice storm in SC yesterday, and I sent a Glympse to my wife when I left work. It updates much faster than Find Friends. My only criticism is it is cumbersome when requesting someones location. The other person can set up, but I still couldnt see them after being the requester. Either way, extremely useful app.

Used to love this app for car club cruises and keeping track of people, but I dont know if its a new version or what, but every time I got to view a Glympse of someone, it shows them stopped in the middle of the map, not even on a road! The first time it happened I thought someone crashed, but now I know its some kind of glitch. It happens in both the app and when viewing it online. Using an iPhone 6+ with iOS 9.2.1, Glympse 3.10 PLEASE FIX!!!

But the location sharing process is not as easy as another new one called Myloco.

Ive been using this app for over 6 months now--daily or every other day--and in the last month or so its had a lot of glitches. Where you send the glympse and start driving and the person says its not updating. I have had this happen when I receive as well. Really annoying. Please fix.
