Glympse -Share your location App Reviews

I have been using Waze for several years and love it for navigation!! I got a new Ford F-150 and Glympse is the only navigation app that works with Sync3 so I downloaded it to use it. Once my iPhone is connected to my truck i cant input anything so that all has to be done BEFORE I connect it to the usb. Not even on the sync3 screen can I input an address to drive to. Now I cant even put a destination in the app? I dont want to pay for a navigation chip and thought this would work but only if I add a destination as a favorite? That is ridiculous!! I did like hat the map shows on my sync3 screen, but if I already know where Im going do I need that?? While using it today it froze up when I switched from audio back to mobile apps. Glympse no longer appeared. Now this could be a Sync3 issue and not Glympse but Ive never had a more frustrating 20 minute drive taking the kids to school. Please fix this so I can actually use this.

Works better and updates more consistently than Waze, and works better than Waze since it shows you in real time the location of driver.

Its only good for four hours, so I cant just send it to my family so they can track my progress and estimate when I will get there, without resetting it twice. Downloading a paid app, that doesnt limit me so much.

Ever since the latest update Glympse has become unusable on multiple phones that Ive tried it on. The tracking of the driver is no longer smooth but is now extremely rigged and inaccurate. The app lags when keeping up with the drivers location. This app is definitely a 5 star must have app on every phone, but until they fix the problem it is rendered useless. I never write reviews but Im hoping developers will see this and be able to fix it to how the routing was in the previous versions.

This app used to be great for road trips. I could send my family a glympse and they could track where I was. Since the last update the app wont even load. Id give it 0 stars if I could. Used to be a 5 star app

This app used to work very reliably. However, about 3-4 months ago I noticed that the drivers position would stop auto-refreshing, and sometimes I couldnt get it to refresh even when I closed the app and reopened it (in addition to a variety of other tricks I had been using to get the app to refresh the drivers position). Now this malfunction has become the apps normal operation. It stops tracking the driver mid trip and cannot be restarted. This means that responsibly safe drivers who use this app to keep family, friends and colleagues apprised of their arrival time without actively using distracting technology are completely unaware that those people have no idea of their arrival time or whereabouts. The app simply no longer works and it doesnt seem like developers have been at all responsive. I wonder if this app is no longer being managed or supported at all by the developer, in which case it should be pulled from the Apple App Store.

This is obviously an app that requires access to your current location via Location Services. Unlike almost every other app, though, Glympse does not have the option to share your location with the app only while youre using it. You either have to choose to share your location with Glympse (and therefore its developers and who knows who else) all day everyday whether youre using Glympse or not, or you have to choose not to share your location at all, rendering the app non-functional. Ive stopped using the app until they offer the option to only share your location when youre using the app. Until then, there are other ways to share my location and ETA with people without having my battery drained and privacy compromised as it is by allowing any app to track my location at will. Unrelated, but why are people making the apples-to-oranges comparison between Glympse and Waze? They perform totally different functions.

The 4 hours maximum time is stupid !

This would be the perfect app if they gave you the option to choose the time frame you want to share with others. 4 hours is usually not long enough for me and having to stop and reset it is very inconvenient.

Please add the option that the app only uses location services when using the app. Now, I have to manually turn it off when I do not use it, because I dont want Glympse to see where I am at all the time. I dont know of another app where you can share your location without entering a route. It is a good app to let people know where you are. Waze doesnt allow you to share your location without entering a destination. I use it when I go cycling by myself to let the wife know where Im at all the time.

Loved this on my older devices... Just want it back!

I use it all the time with my family and friends. Simple and just works. New version looks great.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus with the latest OS. I can send A Glympse or friends, but when I receive a Glympse, it crashes the app.

App keeps crashing every time I attempt to request a glympse location, it doesnt matter which way I attempt to send it. Started happening when I updated to iOS 10. Also, app continually gets locked up for up to 20+ mins at a time.

The day after I installed this app my iPhone kept crashing it wouldnt turn on until I plugged it in again. Battery life was at 53% and then it just died. I plugged it in and it came right back. After removing this app my phone stop crashing. iOS 9

Would be awesome if I can use this in iMessage.

Glympse does everything I ever hoped for and then some. Love it. I have been using it for about a year or let my wife know my eta.

We use glimpse when we are riding our motorcycles and trying meet up at a location, its much easier than stopping and texting/calling along the way. If someone gets to the location first, they can open the app and know where the rest of us are and when well be there. Love this app!

Why is there no choice for share location only when using app? You only have always share and never share. Its invasion of privacy to have always share only, when I want my location shared I will have the app open

What is the jaguar and land rover experience thing ? That sounds interesting.
